Welcome to the Yacht Kiah Website

These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise!!!! ...... oops wrong show..

However, these are the voyages of ourselves as liveaboards on our Island Packet 380 yacht KIAH.

Our background image, to this home page, shows the entrance to English Harbour and Nelson's Dockyard on the South side of Antigua. It was the realisation of a dream to be able to sail into English Harbour on our own yacht and to visit Nelson's Dockyard.

We have been very lucky in our lives generally and, in the year 2000, we were able to purchase a new Island Packet 380 sailing yacht of 12mtrs length overall.

Having fitted her with self steering gear and other items including radios and radar, We sailed her from the year 2000 in and around the East and South coasts of the UK and ocassionally across to France, Belgium and Holland. In 2004, having made all the changes we felt necessary, we set sail for warmer climes, with our first winter stop in Almerimar on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. We then sailed around the Mediterranean before heading out to cross the Atlantic, via many Atlantic Islands, to the Caribbean and down to Trinidad & Tobago to wait out the 'hurricane season'.

Leaving Trinidad and Tobago behind, our next voyages took us North up through the Leaward Islands, the Windward Islands, then on to the American Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the Turks and Caicos Islands, then the Bahamas.

Nassau, is the main island in the Bahamas, at the very top end of the Exuma islands. Leaving Nassau behind we headed Northwest and crossed the very shallow corral beds, towards North Cat Cay and Alice Town on the Bimini Islands(tiny islands both) and we then turned North and headed up the length of Florida to our first port of call in the USA Amelia Island at the very top end of Florida.

A combination of the Intracoastal Waterway and open sea brought us eventually to our winter berth in Deltaville, Virginia, on the Chesapeake Bay. Our return voyages brought us first down to Beaufort, North Carolina.

Departing the USA we then headed across to Bermuda and eventually to the Azores, before then returning into the Mediterranean. We took the French and Belgium rivers/ canals route back to the English Channel and then back into the UK at Dover in late 2015.

Regretfully (for Alan anyway),we came ashore into a house in 2016 and finally we sold our beloved Kiah in 2017.
Her wonderful new owners carried out a major refit of Kiah before taking her once more around the Atlantic Circuit.
