We knew that the Golfe de Porto-Vecchio was located on the Southeast of Corsica and, we also knew that it was a deep inlet. However, we were surprised at just how big the inlet was, with many additional smaller inlets throughout it’s depth. We anchored right at the inner end of the Golfe, close to the city of Porto-Vecchio itself. The town is lovely but the climb up the hill to get to the main city is something else. After a little time Jenny had to leave us and her flight was from the Northern airport at Bastia, so we hired a car and set out for a trip through the centre of the island, ending up on the coast at Bastia. It was a wonderful journey to the town of Corte then up into the hills.
